Who We Are

Our Mission

Started by a sarcoma survivor. Run by volunteers. We book flights, hotels, and rides so sarcoma patients can access the specialist centers that treat their cancer.

Why sarcoma. Why travel.

Sarcoma is one of the rarest forms of cancer, accounting for roughly 1% of all adult malignancies. Studies show 54% of osteosarcoma cases are initially misdiagnosed, and over 40% of pathology results change when reviewed by a sarcoma specialist. Effective treatment requires multidisciplinary teams with deep subspecialty experience, and those teams are concentrated at specialist centers that most patients don’t live near.

What that means in practice: a patient diagnosed in a rural area or a small city may not have access to a specialist sarcoma team. The right diagnosis, the right surgical margin, the right chemo protocol all require a center with deep sarcoma expertise, sometimes hundreds of miles away. Insurance doesn’t cover the gas, the flights, or the hotel stays.

Austin Henry had osteosarcoma while serving in the Navy. After treatment, he saw a clear need for an organization that helps sarcoma patients cover the cost of getting to a specialist. So he built one.

We had made the decision to go to NY for another opinion. By my surprise, Austin asked the details and told me they would be funding that hotel stay as well. I can't tell you how thankful I am for this!

I cannot recommend this foundation enough. If you are a sarcoma warrior facing the need of travel assistance for medical treatment, please reach out to these people. And most importantly, if you are considering donating, please know your money will be very well used and much appreciated. This wouldn't be possible without the generous donors. I am personally very thankful for every hand who had a part in my journey thus far with my cancer diagnosis, and this foundation happens to be apart of it. I first reached out inquiring for assistance in travel to TX which was so graciously given to me. My entire hotel stay was funded. The most precious guy, Austin, had been helping me. He checked on me while we were still in the hotel for him to find out some bad news we got from the doctor. We had made the decision to go to NY for another opinion. By my surprise, Austin asked the details and told me they would be funding that hotel stay as well. I can't tell you how thankful I am for this! Of course Austin also checked on me while in NY. Just genuine caring people. Please consider being a part of stories like mine being possible!

This charity actually benefits the individual facing cancer and makes a difference one life at a time. This is how survivors are made.

This is exactly the foundation we needed when my husband was diagnosed with sarcoma. We had no idea how important or life saving a second opinion was at a sarcoma center, but getting to one literally saved his life. We are forever grateful to Jennifer and James Flint for helping him get to MD Anderson, and absolutely love this foundation that gives other patients that same life-saving opportunity. This charity actually benefits the individual facing cancer and makes a difference one life at a time, rather than vague missions like "cancer research". This is how survivors are made. ❤️
